About the Project
The goal of this project was to rebrand “Voodoo Fest,” a New Orleans-based music festival. This branding system aims to encapsulate the vibrant spirit and cultural richness of the city while infusing the mystical and magical essence of Voodoo. Departing from the previous electronic and futuristic design, this new approach adopts a more hand-crafted visual identity that better resonates with the festival’s diverse mix of music, art, and community, ensuring all graphic elements stand out during the bustling festival.
The branding system is anchored by the Voodoo Fest logo, a hand-drawn sketch refined in Adobe Illustrator and used as a style guide for the execution of all the graphic elements found on everything from the promotional posters to social media promotions. The color palette, reflecting “a mystical blue flame,” mirrors the dynamic performances dancing across the festival stages. The typefaces were carefully chosen to convey a sense of playfulness and mysticism, aligning with the festival’s commitment to providing a truly unforgettable experience.
Every element was designed to create a cohesive and immersive experience that captures the heart and soul of Voodoo Fest. The brand is not only visually stunning but also tells a story, inviting attendees to step into a world where music and magic collide.
